APRIL 23– Philippine and Chinese warships are in a stand-off over claims to the remote Scarborough Shoal.
The crisis began when a Philippine warship stopped Chinese fishing vessels trespassing in waters claimed by the Philippines.
President Obama is closely monitoring the crisis, since American and Filipino forces are conducting joint military exercises near the heavily disputed Spratly Islands. The Chinese Communist Party objects to these military exercises authorized by President Obama.
This new confrontation near the Scarborough Shoal reaffirms the CCP has all but officially declared a challenge to American hegemonic superiority and international order.
The CCP hopes to overthrow governments (aligned with the United States) through internal revolution, global economic colonization and by enforcing territorial claims to destabilize American allies. The CCP believes these actions will deplete American resources, thereby causing a hegemonic paradox (America’s decline).
President Obama has recently authorized many foreign policy measures to protect the national security of the United States concerning the South China Sea. For more information regarding the president’s implementation of preemptive measures to confront the CCP’s challenge to American hegemonic superiority, including joint military exercises conducted by the United States and the Philippines near the heavily disputed Spratly Islands, visit this update link by THE LAST COLUMNIST.
The CCP’s territorial claims over the Spratly Islands, Scarborough Shoal and the entire (Eastern/West Philippine/South China) Sea is a clear violation of maritime law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. International laws establish a country’s right to make continental shelf claims, based on an Exclusive Economic Zone of 200 miles off a country’s coastline. China has no right to make these claims regarding 90 percent of the (South China) Sea, especially claims involving the distant Scarborough Shoal and Spratly Islands. This is discussed in detail below under the heading, “LEGITIMATE CLAIMS BASED ON GEOGRAPHY AND MARITIME LAW.”

May 1, 2012, update on diplomatic tensions between China and the U.S. concerning South China Sea and Chen Guangcheng in this New York Times article: “Unease Mounting, China and U.S. To Open Military Talks.”
The following is a set of extensive articles by THE LAST COLUMNIST with history and background of the Spratly Islands dispute:
Jan. 16– Imperialist Chinese Communist Party leader Hu Jintao warned the United States against “militarism” after President Obama announced a new military strategy Jan. 5, 2012.
Obama said the U.S. would increase its air and sea capabilities, focusing attention on East Asia.
The U.S. military is preparing to confront the genocidal and despotic Chinese Communist Party over its belligerent claim to the Spartly Islands and South China Sea.
The CCP’s imperialist dreams of worldwide domination through economic colonization, military conquest and systematic genocide will end in a nightmare when it finally faces the full onslaught of American military force.
For the latest information regarding China’s warning to the United States and President Obama’s new strategy, visit BBC News.
President Obama’s strategy follows President Truman’s policy of “containment,” in line with George Kennan’s “Long Telegram” and the containment of Soviet communism.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has clawed its way into the Middle East, Africa and South America, threatening the national security interests of the United States.
The CCP will eventually face a direct– and debilitating– confrontation with the United States, as it can no longer hide behind proxy wars it wages through Iran, North Korea, the Lord’s Resistance Army and al-Qaeda.
Communist China finances al-Qaeda’s terrorist activities and provides Iran with military intelligence, as well as nuclear and anti-aircraft carrier missile technology to fight the United States with proxy wars in the Persian Gulf/Strait of Hormuz, Middle East and Africa.
By cutting off and controlling the Persian Gulf and South China Sea trade routes, the CCP hopes to disrupt oil supplies and all commercial trade to destroy the U.S. economy.
Dec. 8 Update:
Imperialist Chinese President Hu Jintao told China’s military industrial complex it must prepare for global warfare with the United States.
War is imminent with the United States, Vietnam and the Philippines, Hu Jintao said.
Hu wants the Chinese Communist Party’s military industrial complex to speed up modernization to achieve military readiness, because the military is not prepared to accomplish the CCP’s dreams of world conquest.
The Chinese Communist Party seeks a full-scale and decisive confrontation with the United States in the Pacific Ocean, so the CCP can advance its policy of Imperialism.
The heavily contested South China Sea, home of the Spratly Islands and their vast natural resources below the ocean floor, is the ignition point.
The illegitimate and genocidal Chinese Communist Party leaders lost patience with their military. The CCP believes the world is ripe for its economic colonization phase to enter the territorial expansion phase with the military enforcing the most brutal form of Imperialism.
The slow pace of modernization has infuriated the elite ruling class, as the worldwide economic crisis is causing problems with maintaining social order with its 1.4-billion slaves.
THE LAST COLUMNIST predicted Hu Jintao’s speech, given on Dec. 7, with the military warning, two days before the announcement in a LAST COLUMNIST article titled, “China braces for economic collapse, social unrest.”
Please visit this BBC News link for the latest information on Hu Jintao’s belligerent statements, released on Dec. 7, 2011.
Recent South China Sea and Spratly Islands updates BY THE LAST COLUMNIST:
China, Obama, Vietnam, the Spratly Islands and World War III
Nov. 16– President Obama confronts the Chinese Communist Party’s belligerent claim to the South China Sea and Spratly Islands by sending U.S. Marines to Australia for “military exercises.”
Obama’s actions are intended to shore up an American naval presence in the western Pacific due to increased tensions caused by military actions conducted by the genocidal Chinese Communist Party.
The CCP’s claim to the region has grave consequences for America’s Pacific allies and U.S. national security. The number of U.S. Marines dispatched will increase to thousands in the near future.
[NOV. 24 UPDATE: THE CCP HAS RESPONDED TO PRESIDENT OBAMA'S ANNOUNCEMENT BY SCRAMBLING ITS NAVY FOR "EXERCISES" IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC OCEAN. Click here to visit this BBC News link for more information.]
During the last year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama have made repeated warnings to the CCP in regards to the South China Sea, as the CCP has warned the United States to stay out of the disputed region and not meddle in the “internal affairs” of the Chinese Communist Party.
The CCP is after the vast, untapped oil and mineral reserves located below the ocean floor around the Spratly Islands, which are claimed by Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia and China.
Make no mistake about this one, people. We are witnessing the long forestalled prelude to World War III.
For background information on the significance of these explosive geopolitical events, please read the last two updates made by THE LAST COLUMNIST below the following links:

LAST TWO UPDATES BY THE LAST COLUMNIST:
Oct. 2011– Vietnam changed its military draft code in preparation for war with China in the South China Sea.
China’s belligerent claim to the strategic and mineral-rich Spratly Islands increased, after the Chinese Communist Party deployed its largest military vessels to the region in response to Vietnam’s “live-fire exercises” and what the CCP calls the “U.S. government’s meddling” in China’s internal affairs.
Vietnam’s Prime Minister, Ngyuen Tan Dung, recently leveled charges of increased belligerency against the Chinese Communist Party and said Vietnam’s sovereignty regarding the Spartly Islands is not up for discussion.
The Chinese Communist Party is attempting to permanently cut off international shipping lanes in the Eastern Sea (AKA South China Sea) to cause economic chaos in Western nations and to lay claim to the [currently] unattainable riches found far below the ocean floor around the Spratly Islands [explained later in this article].
Chinese Communist Party navy personnel, under orders from Beijing, have massacred Vietnamese, Filipino and Malaysian military personnel, as well as respective civilians in the region due to CCP territorial claims.
The CCP’s navy also had several incidents with U.S. Naval vessels, and it has warned the United States to stay out of the [Eastern] South China Sea. The U.S. Navy tries to constantly enforce international laws by making its presence known in international shipping lanes.
The following video takes you to an international news report on the Chinese Communist Party’s 2011 warning for the United States to stay out of the South China Sea, which is a clear violation of international law regarding Freedom of the Seas:
The United States has stated that maintaining stability (and open shipping lanes) in the heavily-contested Spratly Islands region is a matter of “national security” to the United States.
The Philippines and the Spratlys in July 2011
Let it be known that THE LAST COLUMNIST isn’t taking sides with the preceding report on Vietnam’s claim. THE LAST COLUMNIST merely presents international debate to increase public awareness and supplement geopolitical analysis.
In July 2011, Philippine President Benigo Aquino III made it clear in a speech that the Spratly Islands belong to the Philippines based on international law pertaining to rights given to archipelago nations and continental shelf extensions, especially in regards to the Spratly Islands. The Philippines refer to the area as the “West Philippine Sea.”
For more on President Aquino’s speech, visit this link to a news report detailing the Filipino president’s stance on the issue.
In the article, the U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, Harry Thomas, is quoted as saying the United States supports the Philippines’ sovereignty over the Spratly Island region.
THE LAST COLUMNIST’S original June 2011 article with extensive Spratly Island background information and in-depth geopolitical analysis follows:
World War III starts over an area in the western Pacific Ocean known as the Spratly Island group.
Claimed by Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei and Taiwan, the Spratly Islands also attract a belligerent ownership claim from distant neighbor China due to issues of geopolitics.
Found in the middle of major shipping lanes and having abundant commercial fishing possibilities, the Spratly Islands trigger human conflict for an even greater reason: untapped oil, gas and mineral reserves discovered far below the surface of these remote islands.
Geological estimates put the regions oil and gas reserves at 25-billion tons, far outweighing the combined reserves currently found in Kuwait and Nigeria. Here’s the problem: nobody has the technology to extract anything— yet. Most reserves sit far beneath the oceanic crust in sedimentary beds.
By violently establishing their claim on the Spartly Islands, the Chinese Communist Party hopes to prepare for technological advances in deep sea drilling and mining, so they have the ability to directly profit from the area’s natural resources– and cause irreversible environmental damage in the process.
LEGITIMATE CLAIMS BASED ON GEOGRAPHY AND MARITIME LAW
Geographically speaking, the Spratly Islands are closest to the Philippines, Vietnam and Brunei. But Malaysia claims the Spratly’s based on the United Nation’s Law of the Sea, recognizing rights granted off their continental shelf and every nation’s right to make a claim based on an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of 200 miles off a country’s coastline.
Of course, the most belligerent and ridiculous claim comes from the distant Chinese Communist Party. Citing the Spratly’s as ancient Chinese fishing grounds found in a vague reference in mythological maps, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) set up military stations on the uninhabited island group under the guise of fishing outposts and lighthouses.
The CCP gave warnings to Vietnam and Malaysia after the two countries made new claims in 2009. Claiming the Spratly’s as sovereign territory, the Chinese Communists have warned of dire consequences if other countries infringe on their ridiculous claim.
In 1988, the Chinese Communists intercepted several Vietnamese military vessels. The CCP massacred the Vietnamese soldiers for attempting to land on Vietnamese soil in the Spratly Islands.
Many confrontations have taken place over the years: all between the CCP and whoever dares to lay claim to the Spratly Islands.
Based on the interpretation of international and maritime law, THE LAST COLUMNIST believes The Philippines hold the strongest claim. Since it’s entirely an Island Nation, the Spratly Islands fall within internationally accepted definitions of territorial possessions for archipelago nations.
An Iron Curtain drops across the Pacific Ocean
The Chinese Communists stepped up their claims and military presence after the United States reduced it’s presence in the Philippines. Now the CCP has successfully delivered its secret weapon to their puppet nation of North Korea.
The CCP delivered several conventional surface-to-surface anti-aircraft carrier missiles. The missiles have the capability to travel 700 miles and destroy a United States aircraft carrier with one shot. As long as North Korea does the CCP’s dirty work, they can plead innocence on the world stage. Also, they successfully tested a new space weapon that can destroy U.S. satellites. All U.S. military weapons, including ships, tanks, aircraft, and soldiers rely on satellites to maintain military readiness. Once the satellites are destroyed, the CCP can move at will.
Recently, the Chinese Communists began economic warfare against countries refusing to recognize their alleged sovereign right to the Spratly Islands and their desire for worldwide conquest.
The CCP controls 90% of the world’s rare-earth minerals, crucial to manufacturing technologically advanced goods. Due to economic disagreements with the U.S. and Japan, the CCP stopped exporting the minerals. The Chinese Communist Party lifted the embargo after heavy diplomatic pressure. But how long will it last?

THE LAST COLUMNIST has one thing to say to his people: open your eyes and get ready.
I want china teach the United Stated a lesson when USA interfere to this depute area
Yeah, they will teach us a lesson alright; how to die!
Yeah, go ahead tell China to teach the Americans and they’ll get their asses spanked! They don’t even have the b#lls to confront the Filipinos.
yeah thats right even if we dont have advance military system . we might as well die defending our poor country . MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF US
You think you can beat the US, you’re joking right? China is no match against the might of naval forces, and even the air space is dominated by US forces because of their advance technology, and China is like a decade behind.
I really don’t like war because it will take the lives of innocent people, but I really hope China will lose if they go to war with the US.
tell other CHINESE morons to stay the **** off
You Don’t own Spratly
**** OFF YOU SON’S OF *******
GET YOUR SORRY *** BACK
TO MOTHER CHINA
Why not…US and the Philippines have been allies for many years…If anyone should not interfere, it’s you chinese who are lightyears if not parsects away from the subject of dispute…The Philippines or Vietnam aren’t provoking any war. it’s your country… Have you looked at a world map closely? if you haven’t, then buy one in a store and look closely at how far you are… then let’s decide.. if your country really believed that you have very strong evidence that it should be yours.. then why is it that your leaders don’t want to bring this to the world court… it’s just you are afraid to lose… you are claiming a property which is just 40 na. miles from palawan in philippines… oh.. no… what the crap is happpening to you…
hey shut the f*** up are you blind
stay off our sea bully
you and your fellow idiotic communist that enslave human beings has no place in this civilized world, you should go back to your cave
China does not have a leg to stand on if this matter is brought to the UN. If China owns these lands since ancient times, then Mongolia should own the whole of China since Ghengis Khan own the Hans since ancient times. Rule based solution is the answer. China is a master of undermining and corruption deals, that’s why they refuse to bring the whole matter to the UN. They want one on one talks only. Bribery is the name of the game for them.
I’m afraid Chinese might bribe the UN too.
that’s impossible
Vietnam should NOT exist on the international map.
Stupid and Crazy !!!!
i am a Filipino .. Vietnam has more b***s than china . they are honest people unlike china .. its not the poeple in china who is brainless its the CCP party who are A__holes
China is the most corrupt nation in the world…. It has a dark agenda to conquer the whole world: to make people slaves and kill them brutally, like what they did to their own citizens, christians and some of the Filipinos wrongly charged with carrying prohibited drugs…. Chinese nationals residing in the other countries are extortionists. Bribery is their weapon to enter into specific regions, and when they’re in, they begin their evil tactics….China put deadly chemicals in their products, and spread viruses by putting diseases on insects to act as carriers to infect a specific country that they want to destroy…go U.S., U.N…NATO forces….destroy china!!!
You’re accusing China without evidence and nonsense huckle. I have never heard and seen that China-Chinese people put deadly chemicals in their products in my life. I suggest that if you’re jealous and hate Chinese people, you’d better say something nicer. China is a peaceful country, and Chinese people live in prosperity. However, if someone tries to mess up in their backyard then….
Here is a link to a BBC News report from 2008. It concerns a poison found in Chinese baby formulas. To save production costs, dairy producers in China diluted the milk with a chemical to make the formulas appear to have nutritional values. Chinese babies died and were sickened from kidney stones, etc…
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7624969.stm
Although the Chinese Communist Party subsequently executed officials involved in the scandal, rules and regulations, or lack thereof, “supposedly” exist that promote such cost-cutting measures.
Chinese business interests also caused the death of many pets worldwide, including in America, due to a manufacturing process that turned out contaminated dog food.
Also, they use lead paint in toys for export to children.
THE LAST COLUMNIST writes in the best interest of the Chinese people to free them from an oppressive government.
Sincerely,
THE LAST COLUMNIST
@ AStraightTalker
there are lots of news regarding how chinese grab other lands and put poison on their products. They have no rights to claim that the spratly island belong to them, because they are too far.
if their basis is their old map, put that map into their ass. that map no longer exist or valid in any arguments.
What did you say !!! china is a peaceful country try this !!! “China: The Wukan uprising and its lessons — Workers’ strikes and new local rebellions use the slogan “Learn from Wukan” “
Hello moron, I bet you live in China that is why you don’t know what’s happening outside your country. You are probably one of those people who works in the factory waiting for your boss to command you to do some dishonest task without you knowing it. Do you know how to read? Or do you watch any news outside your country? If you do, then you should know what we are talking about, Stupid. I want to make these things clear, ok. We are not jealous people and we don’t hate chinese people. To make it clear, Chinese people are jealous, dishonest, thieves and etc. If I were you shut up and try not to say anything because you don’t know what’s going on in your country.
China’s a peaceful country?? Ever heard of Tiananmen Square??
I see China doesn’t have a claim to the Spratly’s. Historically they are claiming it, but if history will be our basis of claiming, it will be a disaster for the world. Law and Rules are made for this to solve what is disputed.
The Philippines and Vietnam are the closest and have the right to claim the Islands which are within their UNLOS. They are only a few nautical miles from the disputed islands. As for China, they should not claim the Islands. As for LAW and Rules, they are not worthy of their claims. Historical basis is not the issue.
Open up our eyes who’s the real owner of these islands. Countries such as Philippines and Vietnam will not back down to this giant.
[Let it be known THE LAST COLUMNIST approved this comment from Daniel and displayed it without editing the disrespectful opening remark or the culturally-insensitive inflammatory statement he made against Filipinos and education standards in the Philippines. THE LAST COLUMNIST regrets approving such comments and doesn't condone these remarks when it comes to a healthy debate process, but Daniel is free to express his opinion in America, as protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.]
Here is Daniel’s comment:
This website is full of crap………..First off, China has no secret agenda. China does not care about or want war. China cares about economy and business. Even if the Philippines had claim on the Spratly Islands, they don’t have the money nor the educated workforce to develop anything good from it…
I live in China and I can tell you, people here are free as a bird. China does not colonize outside its boundaries and has never done so. Western culture is what colonized the world and brought Euro-centric mentality to ASIA. You see it China… Chinese love American products and people.
@daniel
Your opinion sucks!! you have no knowledge about anything. read the news online, and you will see that your comments are very misleading.
Chinese are trying to grab things that don’t belong to them. I hope US destroys the Chinese forces when the war starts.
Mr. Daniel, and I quoted..
“Even if the Philippines had claim on the Spratly Islands, they don’t have the money nor the educated workforce to develop anything good from it…”
-Don’t you know that Filipinos make Saudi Arabia an alive economy because they (Filipinos) make up the workforce that is making Saudi a rich country. Don’t you ever say that Filipinos don’t have any educated persons here.. Look at Dr. Diosdado Banatao. He makes the computer microchip, so what is the world using today. He is a Filipino, to name a few world-known Filipinos, Maybe yes, not economically and financially stable, but “OPEN your BIG EYES wide” and try to look at the WORLD MAP or ASIAN MAP. See how far CHINA is to the SPRATLY’s.. or maybe you don’t know what a “MAP” is and you don’t know how to read the Laws.
Filipino’s or Vietanam could develop their share… But even if they can’t.. china doesn’t have the right to take what she doesn’t own.. History isn’t the basis now.. we are already civilized and there are rules or regulation that were set… Discovery of a country ownership theory will throw the world unbalanced… If columbus dicovered america then Genoa should own america.. doesn’t make sense…
IM A FILIPINO. I know we do not have enough money to educate our police force,or army, but how dare you say those things to my country?Three Filipinos have been executed in China last 2010 because of illegal smuggling of drugs, but MANY CHINESE people in MY COUNTRY,smuggling tons and tons of it.It’s my government’s fault if we don’t respond to any of this, but I know why,BECAUSE PHILIPPINES IS A DEMOCRATIC NATION,THAT’S THE GREATEST GIFT THE AMERICANS GAVE TO US.SPRATLYS IS BIOLOGICALLY OURS,200+ away from Palawan seas.HOW CAN IT BE A PART OF CHINA?So stupid that they tell us that it’s HISTORICALLY THEIRS.IF IT’S HISTORY ON BASE,THEN IF THE LAND BRIDGES DIDN’T COLLAPSE MAYBE CHINA IS ALSO OURS.
Hey, you are misinformed about Filipino professionals. Filipino engineers, technicians, doctors and Nurses work in Saudi Arabia and most Saudi Utilities are staffed by foreigners and Philippines professionals. Not only that, you can find these guys also work in the U.S. and Europe. Your comment that Philippines does not have a qualified workforce then you are WRONG and MISINFORMED. Money? Most government budgets in it’s military goes to fighting home qrown insurgency and terrorist. But they are slowly modernizing the armed forces. The Philippines now are on par with other ASEAN countries in terms of professionals and educated workforce. The Philippines has it’s own deep sea drilling rigs in Malampalaya region off Palawan Island producing Gas and Oil but cannot supply 100% of it’s crude and gas needs. There are lots of Phil. professionals working abroad and these guys can go home anytime.
China Goverment is pirates ! Yeah, Pirates !
China loves war– why?they want to reduce their population. They can’t feed anymore win or lose. they are happy they were murdered by the Japanese during ww2 how much more with the US. now they are only good in the circus and i mean gymnastic. In boxing they are losers! Dream on china you will never win someday. China will be conquered and divided. price for the allied nations…
China’s people and government is opportunistic and very clever, see how they employed their Naval troops, submarines, warships..etc.. after US Naval troops reduces their presence on Spratly ..”They guard the rail somehow to continue their construction on the area.” Chinese people behaviour are very trickery and ambitious!!.. no doubt, they kill and masacre huge number of people marching against their government_scar on your face
War… Do you realize what you’re asking for? Do you think in a war between our people and the Chinese would only affect China or the US? War between China and the US is as good as signing the death warrants for millions of people world-wide. Yes, we have superior technology and superior firepower… but China is not without its defensive and offensive capability.
Yes, our people would likely win a direct confrontation with China, but at what cost? Then there is the humanitarian in me saying “Look at the work-camps, fenced in on top of Chinese factories.” It is then that I realize that there is indeed significant corruption in China. I’m not saying there isn’t any in the United States, but some of the things that go on in China are rather frightening.
Yet still… war. It always… always comes to war. You know what really happens in a war? Brother will fight, and kill, brother. The truth is slaughtered en mass and the liberties of all people trampled. And the innocent… those who did not seek conflict – those who did not seek anything other than to live their lives in peace? They always suffer the most. A field can be cleaned and plowed over. Buildings, roads, thing can all be rebuilt. But when a person is dead, that’s it. They will never smile. They will never cry. They will never laugh, or sneeze, or get angry, or love ever again. Everything they were, are, and ever could have been, ends right there.
Never wish for war, my friends. World War III? The death and devastation would be immeasurable. I cannot speak for any other country – save Vietnam, but when the United States truly, and deeply feels challenged, or threatened, we are one of the most frightening monsters on this planet. When we all agree – when our great nation moves as one, the resulting force is overwhelming. If we do not take great care to use the force wisely, it will be the death of us all. This is what I know of the United States. Vietnam proved themselves similar in the fact that when their homeland was under attack by our forces (as I’m sure many of them saw it as, reverse the roles and wouldn’t you?), they relentlessly fought us back at every turn. The harder we pushed, the more they steeled their resolve to stop us. Japan did as well, but their numbers were exhausted by the end.
Let us assume that every nation has its patriots, as I’m sure most if not all certainly do. If everyone, everywhere, were fighting each other, and they knew their nation would certainly fall, so before they let it fall… There could well end up being no United States. No China, no Russia, or Saudi Arabia, or Vietnam, or England, France, Germany, Spain, Japan, Cuba, Kuwait, Ireland, Scotland… Everything, everyone, all that we were, all that we’ve accomplished since before our histories remember, it will all be gone. Lost to the man-made cataclysm that is global war.
I vote for peace. There has to be something that all sides want or need that can be negotiated. Is China simply grabbing for resources or is there something more behind it? How anti-American is the current communist regime there? Are the deeper issues really something more along the lines of “China (its leadership, in whole or in part) wants to be recognized as an intelligent and viable member of the upper-echelon of civilizations here on Earth.”? Are conditions around China really as awful as has been reported? Are they making strong efforts to change and/or improve conditions for their people?
I’m sure there are many more things along those lines that could or have been examined. As I say, I want peace. If one nation moving as one can be an immeasurable and nearly unstoppable force, imagine what a whole world could do if they put the effort into it? I’m not promoting a “One-world Government,” I’m promoting a “Nations of the World cooperating for mutual benefit” approach. Idealistic, I know. What can I say, I’m a dreamer.
Which brings me to this: never underestimate humanity’s power to dream. Everything we see around us that isn’t naturally occurring was someone’s dream. There are countless cases of one man and/or many people transforming their dreams into reality all over the world. If just a few people, or even a large group of people can do so much… imagine, just imagine, what could happen if we all worked to make one dream come true? The power of us as a race is limited by our own ignorance of what we can accomplish together.
Now take said power, and direct toward ending global hunger, global cruelty, global corruption… or take it and put it to something perhaps more practical and capable of furthering humanity’s ability to feed itself. I’m crazy. Right? Wrong. Think *REALLY* long term. We have to go there. Space. We have to find other worlds, inhabited or not. We have to seek our place among the stars. Otherwise, it doesn’t matter what happens here on Earth.
When our sun eventually starts dieing, it will cook the surface of the planet for a very, very long time. After that it may explode, or it may collapse, what happens around this time isn’t exactly known, but what happens after is. It will grow cold, and it will die. And when it does, it will take Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes, Plato, Galileo, Magellan, Joan of Arc, Einstein, Lao Tzu (Laozi), Dr. Weird, Superman, the crying kid from Neon Genesis Evangelion, you, me, the house, the trees… it’ll take us all with it. And then this conflict, the next conflict, everything that comes next and all that came before: it’s all for nothing. Unless we learn how to get along and reach for the stars.
A very thought out comment but if a country such as china gets their way without resistance then what would stop them from claiming more? ultimately, it would lead to unorganized fighting and poverty for the people in the areas invaded. War might lead to deaths but if there are no more choices then so be it. Prolonging this would likely lead to more deaths than a war would.
Chinese could never be trusted. They are godless, barbaric, greedy, ……. Millions of fetuses and newly born babies every year are aborted and killed in China simply for having been created as females. How could you trust people like these? They would even taint their milk supply to make extra buck; they would manufacture fake branded medicines to smuggle to other countries; ……. They cheat on anything, everything, even on nothingness!
Not only are these people dishonest…
china can **** my **** *****
if China [the boastful, barbaric, & greedy one on mainland Asia] keeps on acting like a moron on the south china sea, it will be thrown back into what it used to be in the 1800s [the sick, weak, pathetic giant of asia]. it worries only about the USA in this dispute when, in fact, it must also be worried about the potential strong negative reactions of the world’s other strong military & economic powers [such as Britain, Japan, Germany, France, Korea, Canada, India, Taiwan] who will not like the loss of freedom & security of navigation on the south china sea due to obvious economic reasons.
the south east asian nation consist of Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and Philippines together with help of Japan, South Korea and US who are extremely using the South China Sea or West Philippine Sea because if this sea will be conquered by China it will have a big impact on their economy should write a treaty that each asean country will help each other in case of war or any kind of sovereign threat . with this kind o treaty china would think twice messing with this country there is this saying “together we stand divided we fall”
