HORSEMAN'S SPECIAL EDITION August 2009

We moved on the next morning right after sunrise, to set up a 7 day fishing camp centrally located to within 30 minutes of five creeks, 2 rivers and 2 lakes. One of the lakes we're fishing is pictured to the right. There are some old logging scars on the side of that hill. I pulled in a 15lb Lake Trout out of that lake and a few in the 8-10lb range today. They will be the main course with a pot full of rice on the side. Open up a few M.R.E.'s to break up the monotony with who knows what you will find in there. This lake has a better view than the one we are camped out at but there is a road that passes within a mile of here, just visiting for the day, back home to our lakeside camp by dinner time. We have the luxury of traveling on a well maintained logging road between our fishing camp and this lake. We caught up with this 8 point Buck you see (below) on the trail here on the outside track as the road bends to the right. Then we found him again in that clearing to the right, he's fortunate I use a camera and I'm not on a hunting expedition. Hungry on horseback and we have some 8 point deer following us down a logging trail now. My friends back in Michigan would pay money to have deer follow them during the last 2 weeks of November. I have this for a problem.

The 2 brothers told me they're going fly fishing in the morning, that isn't my thing, I'll ride Blue back to the spot you see on the other side of that lake and take a shot at climbing to the top for a view of my beautiful backyard. Well I made it to the top alright, wanted to give up from the heat but I didn't. I ran into my friends on the ride back, at least they caught a couple of 10 pounders to fry up tonight. That's all I have time to tell about this trip at one sitting. I promise this story will be continued in October as part of the HALLOWEEN SPECIAL EDITION. I will link the rest of this story so it will all go together. | Some of the headline divider's will be; IS THERE A PSYCHOANALYST IN THE HOUSE? IF YES, DO YOU MAKE 'DEN' CALLS? Also- IT'S 3AM, YOU'RE 100 MILES FROM THE NEAREST LOGGING ROAD, AND THE 'BOSS' OF THE WOODS COMES 'STOMPING' THROUGH YOUR CAMP. I will be including pictures of the BIG indentions we found in the ground just west of our camp that morning. You won't find any lame ghost stories for Halloween here my friends. I have to meet my friend Liam down at Pinnacle Race Course. First post is at 2:30. Ever try to handicap a Detroit Thoroughbred Horse Race? Believe me, sitting there watching it live doesn't help. I Hope you liked the first part of the trip out west. |
